Colleague volunteering and Pro bono Advisory
Giving our time and leveraging our employees’ diverse skills, experiences and personalities to inspire young people and support social purpose organisations is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact. Through our volunteering initiatives, our colleagues work directly with young people through mentoring and skills workshops and engaging in environmental conservation. Additionally, our Pro bono Advisory initiative offers free professional advice to charities.

Environmental action
World Environment Day
The United Nations ‘World Environment Day’ encourages worldwide awareness and action to protect our planet.
From 5 – 16 June 2023, colleagues across the world were invited to participate in environmental volunteering, ranging from river cleans to invasive plant removal and green space maintenance, and talks on environmental sustainability.
Mentoring
Chemins d’avenirs
Chemins d’avenirs is committed to levelling the playing field for rural and small-town youth, ensuring they have access to the same opportunities as their urban peers. By building a supportive network, the charity tackles challenges like geographic isolation, the digital divide, and social determinism. In addition to grant funding, R&Co4Generations encourages Rothschild & Co colleagues to become mentors, providing these ambitious young individuals with valuable guidance and expertise.
Career workshop
Manchester Youth Zone
Manchester Youth Zone (MYZ), located in Harpurhey, one of the UK's most deprived regions, offers essential support to young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs), providing meals, sports, education, and tailored assistance. As part of our partnership, our Manchester colleagues recently opened their office doors to offer a group of young people from MYZ an insightful glimpse into the world of work, demystifying various career paths and encouraging them to nurture their aspirations.
