ABOUT THE GENEVA SOCIETY OF FREDERIC CHOPIN

In early 1997, a group of music enthusiasts in Geneva, inspired by Frédéric Chopin, founded the Société Frédéric Chopin. Despite Chopin's global fame, his music was underrepresented in Geneva, and no Swiss pianists had participated in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw since 1927. Over 27 years, the Society has hosted numerous acclaimed musicians, many making their Geneva debut, and supported young artists through scholarships and performance opportunities. The Société Frédéric Chopin Genève Association began receiving sponsorship from Banque Pâris Bertrand in 2017. This sponsorship was continued by Rothschild & Co Bank AG after the acquisition of Banque Pâris Bertrand in 2021.
